The vintage of 2014 is a sweet muscat wine made from grapes harvested from three different vineyards.
It is a well balanced wine that adds a freshness to the rich aromas of Samos muscat. The grapes are allowed to dry traditionally, under the greek sun, resulting in a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The wine is left to age for 24 months in french oak barrels, of medium and light «toast», that bring forth the uniqueness of the three different terroirs.
This exceptional, fresh but aged white muscat has a golden colour, brings sweet floral aromas to the nose and is rich to the mouth, with fruit, vanilla, honey and bergamot tones.
NOPERA owns three vineyards of 40,000 square meters, located across Samos, comprised of vines with a median age of 20 years. The organic and biodynamic cultivation methods allow for a minimum intervention between nature and vines. The two types of wine we produce are dry Muscat, and vin doux from sun dried grapes. Samos has a magnificent terroir of a very long history. Our scope is to bring the absolute and outmost potential of viticulture and vinification within our unique ecosystem to our consumer's palette, because of its delicious taste and its rich ancient history.
